NH Small Claims is a volunteer project by Dartmouth College students working to make New Hampshire's small claims process easier to understand for people representing themselves. We're not attorneys, and nothing here is legal advice — just plain-language help for anyone filing a claim or responding to one.
Why we built this
Small claims court is designed to be usable without a lawyer, but it isn't always easy to navigate alone. As Dartmouth students, we saw a chance to put our research skills toward something with a direct, practical benefit for our neighbors across New Hampshire — plain-language information, kept up to date, in one place.
